Chuck Vincent - Blue Summer (1973)

User Reviews
14 December 2007 | by lazarillo (Denver, Colorado and Santiago, Chile)

This is a rather schizoid movie as is evidenced by its two alternate titles "Blue Summer" on one hand, or "Love Truck", on the other. At times this seems like a typically stupid and painfully unfunny early 70's softcore sex romp with a lot of idiotic and unrealistic situations and some pretty unappealing actresses. The movie follows a pretty typical formula--two guys who have just graduated high school go off on a road trip in a customized van looking some female action, and fall into all kinds of increasingly absurd, but not particularly funny situations--and, of course, they have a lot of sex on the way.

Claudio Guzmán and Arthur Marks - Linda Lovelace for President (1975)

Plot Synopsis:

An intentionally campy film designed to capitalize on Linda Lovelace's sudden fame following "Deep Throat", this film centers around Linda's fictional grass roots campaign to run for president. Touring the country with a rag-tag team of strange and wacky people, hilarity ensues at every stop.

John Quinn - Beauty Betrayed (2002)

Imdb User Review

Renee Rea gets her diploma.
19 November 2006 | by insomniac_rod (Noctropolis)

This is Renee Rea's graduation with honors from soft core. She delivers a magnificent sexy, kinky performance all the way. She performs in a very sexy manner and delivers plenty of quality when it comes to sex. She really delivers sexy moments and her sexual positions are sexy and provocative. Pay special attention to the climatic parallel sex scenes, yeah, when Renee and a super hot brunette have sex with some lucky bastards. The highlight comes when Renee is taken from behind in a jacuzzi. Oh I love women.

"Beauty Betrayed" is actually a very well done erotic thriller. There's an interesting plot involving murders, lust, and yes, betrayal. But the strong point about this movie are the hot women. You can't do wrong with Tracy Ryan and Renee Rea among others.

Russ Meyer - Supervixens (1975)

She orders him home at once when she calls Clint and overhears a female customer, SuperLorna (Christy Hartburg), hits on him at work. Clint finds SuperAngel's constant accusations and arguing a turnoff and, back at home, they fight after he rejects her aggressive advances. A neighbor calls the police as Clint leaves for a local bar, where the bartender is the very scantily clad SuperHaji (Haji).

Pierfrancesco Campanella - Bugie rosse aka The Final Scoop (1993)

Pierfrancesco Campanella's first giallo (also his directorial debut). The plot is about a series of murders among homosexuals, but the erotic element is mostly represented in heterosexual couplings, so no worries there. Starring the always excellent Tomas Arana, with Alida Vali, Gioia Scola, Lorenzo Flaherty, Natasha Hovey and Barbara Scoppa.

Carl Monson - The Takers (1971)

The Back Cover wrote:
After a breakfast of LSD and hitchhikers, The Takers--two berserk bikers--decide to go upscale when they spot suburban housewife Laura and bachelorette Barbi, follow them to Laura's home, and invite themselves in: "We're gonna have us a party with some educated social-type broads!" And party they do until Laura's hubbie unexpectedly shows up to settle things with some shotgun vengeance and... well, one of the goofiest, most startling endings of any motion picture!

Koji Wakamatsu - Okasareta hakui aka Violated Angels (1967)

A voyeur, invited into a dormitory for nurses, remains behind to violate and murder close to a dozen of them. Some of the nurses attempt to talk him out of ending their lives and much of the film is comprised of these conversations, but the talk doesn't do much good. Most of the film is black and white and quite murky, but there are selected snippets of color to illustrate the aftermath of the killer's work. Bleak and slow moving, Wakamatsu attempts to provide a political subtext for the nastiness, but it comes across as pretentious. The stabbings, rapes and beatings are shot mostly at a distance, but the tone is upsetting and the constant screaming and general air of misery is palpable. The score, by Wakamatsu, is hypnotic.

Fernando Siro - Las colegialas aka Las Colegialas Se Divierten (1986)

The main plot involves the school director bringing in a female inspector to clean up the school. This worries the students for some reason to the extent that they confront the inspector at her house and accidentally knock her out. They then decide to kidnap her and replace her with the sexy stripper "aunt" of one of the girls. The real director meanwhile falls madly in lust/love with one of her male captors after they eat an erotic meal of fruit and sausages together. Meanwhile a goody-good student and her hypocrite father begin to suspect the ruse... First a classic Brazilian erotic. Looks like a move about a young girl who keeps fantasing about anal with a black man...

Gerard Damiano - Odyssey: The Ultimate Trip (1977)

Three unrelated stories. The first is about a dissatisfied, hurtful couple clinging together to spite each other rather than take the risk of finding a relationship. The second story consists of a series of female clients at a psychologist's office that each tell their bitter and sad stories of how they developed their attitudes towards men or sex in general. The final story is a day in the life of a model that can't seem to get past posing for the men's magazine circuit, the daily abuse she deals with, her feelings of enslavement, and the impact upon her sanity.

Michael Zen - Falconhead (1976)

These days adult titles reflect the style of the companies releasing them rather than the directors making them. But look back into the 1970s and very early 1980s, before video opened the genre up to anyone with a video camera and a few thousand dollars, and you find some movies made by actual filmmakers, movies that were cinematic as well as erotic. Michael Zen's "Falconhead" is a prime example, proof that porn and artistry are not mutually exclusive concepts. The movie is essentially a series of scenes loosely connected by an antique mirror of mysterious origin. Each man who comes into possession of the mirror is himself possessed, lost in a sexual fantasy so powerful that becomes real—or so it seems. The viewer is likely to become possessed as well by hardcore scenes that go from a seething sensuality to a raw raunchiness, made more erotic by the film's Gothic sensibility. Some people may find trappings of the 1970s —blow-dried hair, mustaches and fake fur bedspreads—off-putting, but the action's intensity has an impact that's timeless (and I kind of like guys with mustaches, besides). Scenes of an overweight, middle-aged hippie with his eyes outlined in black interrupt the mood, even if he's in a non-sexual role, and the titular Falconhead figure is borderline ridiculous. On the whole, though, "Falconhead" is an example of adult film as a viable form of artistic expression, and showcases Michael Zen—like peers Joe Gage and Wakefield Poole—as a one-time auteur. In 1984, Zen directed a sequel, "Falconhead II: The Maneaters." Today, Zen has moved with the times, churning out slick pornographic titles that are indistinguishable from anything else produced by whatever company has hired him, be it Jet Set Men or straight titles for Vivid (Joe Gage has gone the same route, now working exclusively for Titan Media). While I enjoy the current adult offerings as much as the next guy, it's older titles like "Falconhead" that have true staying power. It's not for nothing that "Falconhead" is considered a classic in its genre.

Jim Buckley - Debbie does Dallas (1978)

IMDb review:
Debbie Does Dallas starring Bambi Woods as Debbie Benton a high school cheerleader that wants to go to Dallas Texas and become one of the cheerleaders for the Dallas Cowboys remains a great old Porno flick today just as it was when it was first released in the mid 1970's, Bambi Woods has long since vanished and retired presumably under her real name and has gotten married and had children but her success as a porn star here will never be forgotten by me or by any male or female fans of hardcore porno and with good reason too.

Debbie is very obsessed with becoming a cheerleader for the Dallas Cowboys and is willing to do anything to achieve her goals to get what she wants and her friends are also equally willing to help her and make her dreams come true and have some kinky and sleazy fun themselves at the same time which is exactly what they all proceed to do.

Joe Damato & Mario Siciliano - Orgasmo esotico (1982)

Orgasmo Erotico is a giallo/porn hybrid directed by Joe Damato & Mario Siciliano. This film is a succession of scenes from horror to dark gothic to hardcore. Between sexual violence and torture, the movie plays with a very loose script. There certainly are many of D'Amato's themes on view: voyeurism, cannibalism, sadistic psychos, sex slaves, lesbianism, etc. Most of the actors are ones he usually works with and most of the music is also taken from his other films.

Brunello Rondi - Valeria dentro e fuori aka Valerie Inside Outside(1972)

Erotic melodrama by Brunello Rondi, known mainly for his film 'Il demonio' (1963).

"I saw this movie when I was pretty young, too young maybe to really understand what was happening, but the core of the story has managed to stay with me for all these years. This movie is the story of a young, beautiful and very frustrated woman who is married to a famous choreographer in the 70's Italy. She has everything material she wants, clothes, a fancy home, jewelry, servants, except one thing: her husband refuses to have sex with her because she wants to get pregnant and have a child. Her husband does not want to have children because he feels they'd be too much responsibility and will interfere with his career and, and since they live in catholic Italy, having an abortion or other type of contraceptive measures is unthinkable. So she goes out, gets a job and does what comes naturally for a young, beautiful woman: she becomes extremely promiscuos and has sex with every man she comes in contact with, in just about every location imaginable. But there is hell to pay when her husband finds out that she's cheating on him, and her punishment is something worse than death. All this happens in about the first third of the movie. I liked the direction and editing, but the acting is what makes this movie worth watching" (Miguel Carvajal)

Max Pécas - Les branchés à Saint-Tropez AKA The Fashioned in Saint-Tropez (1983)

If it were not Max Pécas it would be an average youth romantic movie with some elements of crime comedy, but it is Max Pécas. So, all other genres may be passed in the lovely name of erotic. Moreover, it's one of the most successful Max Pécas' films: it even engendered a so-called "trilogie tropézienne" (with "Deux enfoirés à Saint-Tropez", 1986, and "On se calme et on boit frais à Saint-Tropez", 1987, which were his two last films). Well, there is even some plot in "Les branchés à Saint-Tropez": two young couples arrive at Saint-Tropez and settle on the villa of father of one girl's ex-. But this father proves to be a counterfeiter, and there is even a police auto-moto-chase in the final of film... Well, who will watch the Max Pécas' movie for the plot? The genuine subject is a sun, a nudity and a very French joy of life.
