Violencia na Carne AKA Violence and Flesh (1981) - Alfredo Sternheim

Violence and Flesh was written and directed by Alfredo Sternheim, whose other notable film’s include Anjo Loiro (this film was adapted from the Heinrich Mann novel titled “Professor Unrat”) and Pureza Proibida. The score for Violence and Flesh features music that was originally composed for other films, the most notable music being Pino Donaggio’s score for Dressed to Kill.

The plot for Violence and Flesh is not original by any means as it clearly was based on some or all of these films, The Virgin Spring, Last House on the Left, Last House on the Beach and House on the Edge of the Park. The plot’s initial set up takes some time before it gets to the meat of the story. The film’s major turning point is a scene where one of the female hostages Neila is asked to entertain the escaped convicts with a sex dance. Her provocative dance ignites the pent of sex drive of one of the convicts who proceeds to rape her. One of the film’s more WTF moments is when it comes time for one of the other convicts to choose his sexual partner he reverts back to his prison mentality and chooses one of the men as his conquest. While he is having his way with one of the men, there are two lesbians getting it on in the corner (now that’s entertainment). In a film that is full of bizarre and over the top moments, the most unusual character in the film is a young woman named Leticia who falls in love with one of the convicts. The predictable ending is kind of a letdown after a near flawless final act.

Sound of Love (1982) - Alan Vydra

IMDb comments: A conductor has grown tired of sex, ignoring his wife played by the always beautiful Annette Haven, but his masterpiece is to be a recording of women having orgasms. He hires a sound engineer to procure them, in stereo. With $500 an orgasm at stake he takes matters into his own hands with a half dozen different women, including the wife of course, to fulfill his clients wishes. Because of the theme of the movie, the sounds are very authentic making the scenes more memorable. This movie also appears to have been filmed before all sense of style and plot went away in the adult film industry. It is interesting that according to the date of release Crystal Breeze would have been 16 during filming, but she sure doesn't look it. She is also credited as Mindy Cole on the Excalibur release.

 Cathal Tohill and Peter Tombs wrote: Robbe-Grillet turned once again to painting and literature for inspiration in his next film. In 1976 he had written a ‘picto-novel’, La Belle Captive, which reprinted some of Magrittes’s paintings including La Belle Captive itself. His 1983 film of the same name used paintings by both Magritte and Edouard Manet as a launching pad, each painting a ‘generation cell’ for the film’s ideas and narrative. Magritte’s Belle Captive is a great painting – formal, poetic, mysterious, it hints at all sorts of possibilities. The drawn curtains open onto a beach and sky. In the stony foreground there is an easel and a painting that visually links the world behind the curtain with the vista in the distance. It’s an audacious, inspiring work that’s a self-conscious reflection on the process of painting, but is also eerie and enigmatic, exuding a strange beauty.

 A group of castaways wash ashore on a deserted island in this Italian sex/gore movie. They are unaware that a sex-crazed radioactive monster is also on the island. He attacks and rapes several of the women, who die horrible deaths because his sperm is radioactive. The survivors must find a way to either escape the island or kill the monster.

Kurutta Butokai AKA Muscle (1989) - Hisayasu Satô

 

 Hisayasu Sato, known as one of the Four Heavenly Kings of Pinku Eiga, has been known from being one of the most complex and versatile filmmakers to come out of pink films and one of the few to shoot both straight and gay films. This one, probably his best known work along with Splatter: Naked Blood, is a sophisticated, dark, brooding erotic film that's also a big tribute to Pasolini.

Riko shows up at Yamazaki's house, and sees that Masako is there. She understands that Yamazaki is fooling around with Masako too. She goes home and finds Yamazaki with her sister Yuko. Riko thinks she's is pregnant but doesn't know who the father is.

College Dormitory aka Dortoir des grandes (1984) - Pierre Unia

If this was a typical French dormitory, I would have gone to school in France. I swear I would have. I would still, at the age of 41, be going to school in France. Perhaps sweeping the dormitory floors, still trying to pass freshman algebra while I dispense wisdom to the bubbly French coed perched on my knee.

College Dormitory is hot stuff, especially for the time it was made. The plot is a bit hard to follow in the English version, but who is following the plot? Not me. It is basically about some girls, in a college dorm. That's enough, you don't need to know any more, except that they are frequently naked and making out with each other.
